Neneh Cherry - Everything

I'm going to need to investigate what else is going on with Sweden lady vocalists, what with Neneh Cherry and Little Dragon.

It's kind of hard to pin Neneh down to any real home, though; born in Stockholm to a Swede and Sierra Leonean, Neneh moved to England, the U.S., then back to England and Sweden.

Though it's not entirely correct to say that Cherry's been on a real hiatus for sixteen years, I do wonder what her experience was in coming back to the drawing board for her first solo release in sixteen years.

Here, we've got a slow build going, slowly adding in what I think is a harmonium (maybe just a synth?  I'm bad at this game), percussion, and, my favorite, her dolphin noises around 5:15.

I don't know if I would say her vocals are "strong," but that's part of what makes this enjoyable.  She's controlled, to a point, but later seems a bit frantic.  This is where Four Tet's involvement is critical: its the bare bones, the slow build, and the grating of her voice that give this track its power.
