Julia Holter - Sea Calls Me Home

Oh, my God.

I am here to tell you that sometimes things actually work out. Despite the warnings and obstacles, and the heavy weight on your heart that you've had for years, sometimes things do work out and they work out well.

Sometimes they really don't. But sometimes they do.

If things have been hard for you, for a long time, it's hard to know what to do. You have to sit down and rest a bit while the weight lifts off your chest and the storm fades away into the distance. You have to understand that the shelter you built isn't right for you anymore. It's time to move on from here, it's time to stand up and reach out your hand to someone else who can't see in the darkness.

I guess before that happens I will march barefoot by barefoot into the ocean. I'll let it take me out today; I'm okay with the currents of the Atlantic, and I'm okay with the currents of the Pacific. Even Malibu warms up from time to time. I'll come out with kelp around my ankles, and I'll know that it didn't take all of me just yet.
